► Summer Days shows the work of eight Nordic painters, who represent different generations and different approaches to the making of art. Along with colour and light, the artists are unitedby the landscape, depicted either directly or allusively. Another central concern for them is the season that is so important to people in northern latitudes: summer – as an object of continual longing, a memory, or a metaphor referring to something vividly experienced and now lost. This book has been written by art critic and curator Timo Valjakka.
