► Albert Edelfelt (1854–1905) is one of Finland’s most celebrated painters. He enjoyed widespread international recognition, introduced plein air painting to Finland, and was a significant modernizer of Finnish art. His rich body of work includes portraits, history paintings, naturalistic folk themes and scenes of the Finnish countryside, but also tableaux of Parisian city life and light-hearted Rococo compositions. Many of Edelfelt’s works are found in the Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation Collection.

Gösta’s Little Art Library is series of publications produced by the Serlachius Museums featuring Gösta Serlachius’s favourite artists and gems from his exquisite collection.
